Character Home Renovation - Milton
This worker’s cottage in Milton was carefully reimagined to create a more functional and contemporary family home while retaining the scale, warmth and character of the original dwelling.
The renovation focused on improving natural light, privacy and connection to outdoor living spaces across two levels. Existing living areas were reconfigured to better support day-to-day family life, while new additions introduced greater flexibility, improved storage and stronger indoor–outdoor flow.
A key aspect of the project was balancing modern living requirements with the qualities that make Brisbane’s traditional character homes so appealing — generous ceiling heights, timber detailing, natural ventilation and a strong relationship to landscape and outdoor space.
The home includes four bedrooms, multiple living areas and elevated outdoor spaces that capture suburban views and breezes, creating a relaxed and highly functional living environment close to the Brisbane CBD.
Completed with a strong focus on detail, functionality and long-term liveability, the project demonstrates how thoughtful planning and carefully resolved design can significantly enhance both lifestyle and property value

Modern Queenslander Renovation - Grange
This classic Queenslander in Grange was transformed through a considered extension and full refurbishment, rethinking how the home functions for contemporary living.
The primary design move was relocating the main living areas to the ground floor, creating a direct connection to the yard and pool and significantly improving usability and flow. The upper level was retained for private spaces, accommodating five bedrooms and a family room.
This reorganisation allowed the home to better respond to both the site and the way it is used day-to-day, while maintaining the character of the original dwelling.
Completed in 2015, the property was sold in 2019, delivering a strong return on investment for the owners.
