Established in 1996, Urban Solutions Architects is a small, design focused practice located in Ashgrove, Brisbane. We specialise in residential design for individual residences and multi-unit dwellings, providing affordable architectural services to home owners, builders and property developers. We service all areas of Brisbane and South East Queensland.

The practice has provided services on projects ranging in size from carports & deck additions to multi-million dollar multi-residential projects and we’ve been fortunate to work in a variety of locations from Noosa to Sydney.

The experience gained over the past 30 years working closely with clients, builders and developers has provided us with the ability to deliver practical, cost effective design solutions whilst maintaining a high level of design integrity.

Using our pre-design Needs and Options Review and applying local experience gained over the past 30 years in residential design, we help clients to understand their site's potential and navigate them through the various planning & building regulations to identify how best to achieve their project goals, before having to commit to a full service agreement.

We pride ourselves on the fact that many clients return to us for project after project and that many of our new clients are referred to us by existing satisfied clients.

KEY PERSONNEL

ARCHITECT

Will Driml

Born in Brisbane in 1965, Will is the son of an architect, Jan (John) Driml, who came to Australia from Czechoslovakia in 1950.

Will & his brother, Axl, both followed Jan into the profession. As a student at QUT, Will worked at Stenders & Partners gaining experience in a wide range of project types. After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1991, Will joined the practice of Denis Mullins Architects in Brisbane’s western suburbs. With a strong focus on residential design, the practice completed many distinctive homes for individual clients as well as providing a design & documentation service for prominent custom home builders, Builtech. At Denis Mullins Architects, Will also managed the delivery of a range of standard home designs for builders in the project home market and was project architect for a number of multi-unit residential projects in Cairns.

Gaining Board of Architects registration in 1995, Will left Denis Mullins Architects to establish his own practice in 1996, completing over 100 residential projects in the following years including new homes, renovations and multi-unit developments.

In 2007 Will joined Mondo Architects as senior architect and team leader on a range of projects including, residential, commercial, retail, institutional & industrial. This was followed by a period as senior architect in the Brisbane office of Sydney based retail specialists BN Group further developing his retail expertise and experience.

2013 saw Will re-launch his own practice with a wealth of new experience, a strong passion for his work and a desire to take the practice to new levels.
